Recognized and Flexible

Clean modern lines, bright lights and warm faces

Offering the best quality services in Kyoto, "Be fine becs" hit the top of the list when it comes to prestigious salons. From feminine to edgy, this salon's skills lie in its flexibility. The stylists knowledge and technique have gained Be fine becs overwhelming support from a wide range of customers in terms of age and style. Each stylist is always look to improve and grow together as a team and it shows in the level of status they've achieved in recent years.

Specialized Staff

Modern feminine looks done masterfully

Specialize is a term many salons use lightly, however Be fine becs isn't joking when they say each staff member is specialized in different areas. The salon manager is a perm expert, while the assistant manager specializes in color theory and technique. The two travel frequently, teaching aspiring beauticians and salons as well as sharing their knowledge with the staff members. As if working with these two isn't enough, they sent each staff member to London to study styling every five years. When they say specialized, they are serious.

One Big Family

Truly One Big Family

The stylists techniques and outstanding customer service are highly recognized in Kyoto. The owners' ideology? Everyone is "one big family." This way of thinking has cultivated a wonderful environment for staff and customers alike. The more experienced staff are mentors to the new staff. Creating close bonds and practicing patience enables the staff to do their best work, and the atmosphere this creates is infectious. Whether you are a first-timer, or a long time customer, when you walk through the door you feel like you're arriving at a friends house. You get a little bit more than just a new look visiting Be fine becs.

Stylist Interview

I interviewed with each stylist at each salon.
I am sure you will find a perfect stylist for you.

What is your favorite style?
Of course, many people have a cute style in mind that they want to get if they visit a beauty salon. However I try to propose something a little more unique to my customers. Making small changes like shortening bangs can make the face look more feminine and can slim the face. Creating styles that balance the charms of adult women while adding a bit of sex appeal is what I am good at.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I have kids, but I am good at balancing my time as a mother and an individual. In my free time I like to challenge myself, so I started calligraphy last year! To create beautiful calligraphy I have to hone my skills, the same way I continue learning new techniques as a hairstylist. I still have a long ways to go but I hope to become a teacher one day!
Is there anything you would like to say to the customers?
First-time visitors are always nervous. I ask each customer what they have in mind during counseling, as well as questions about lifestyle so I can get to know each individual. From here, I also share the customer what I am thinking and do my best to match every person to a style that suits them. The goal is to not overstep, but guide the customer so that they are comfortable moving forward, so I ask to talk as freely as you can so we can give you the best style!
My Viewpoint

Masumi is a senior staff member who manages the customer service and education functions of the salon. Her friendliness and easy to talk to nature makes it simple to get along with her. She is an outstanding stylist who can translate vague ideas and wishes into an image of what the customer wants effortlessly. She can also help you push your style boundaries and creates cuts that truly flatter each individual.

What is your favorite style?
My specialty is perming, and I love creating gentle wavy looks with perms. I lecture at perm seminars in Kyoto frequently. Throughtout the industry, there are many theories and methods on how to perm, based on what drugs and rolling techniques are used. The ideal finish is an elastic soft perm that last long, but minimizes damage. Using my techniques, we create this ideal perm.
What is your favorite style?
Recently I started running. At first I just tried dieting but that didn't really work out so well. I enjoy running though and hope to finish a marathon one day.
What is your favorite style?
As I am over 40 years old now, I feel more and more that the creating beautiful hair is the most important thing for me. When we are young, we wear cheap clothes and style our hair using unhealthy methods, but youth holds up to that. However as you get older, you have to take better care of your hair as it ages. With this in mind Be fine becs has adopted holistic care concepts and has many protein treatments to protect hair and keep it youthful and glossy. If you would like to start taking better care of your hair please come and consult us!
My Viewpoint

GO is the director of BFB and a permanent lecture for hairdressers thoughout Japan. Be fine becs, has been in business for over 30 years now, but GO and the stylists fresh attitude make the salon feel new. Please try out the experience of GO's meticulous approach to perming and styling.

What is your favorite style?
I love creating short cuts that are easily styled on a busy morning. Short, functional and easy to dry, short cuts can make the face balanced and appealing to the eye. A hair design that combines this with nuances like finish and color can create something that is unique to each individual and strays away from monotonous short cuts.
What is your favorite style?
I love travelling, especially to Aomori and Akita. For example, Akita's Namahage is a wonderful blend of western and indigenous cultures. The beauty in travelling is new experiences, so I really love hearing folklore from this area.
What is your favorite style?
The concept I always consider is "Want to do more than just what you can do." With each cut I always challenge myself, constantly pushing my boundaries, as well as helping customers push to try something a little bit different and special than last time. By challenging ourselves to achieve something new, we then grow closer to who we want to be. Oh, and please tell us all your stories during counseling.
My Viewpoint

While interviewing Mr. Yamada, he was extremely easy to talk to, and I felt he accurately grasps intentions and ideas. I think he's one of those people who can easy understand the feelings of others and this definitely comes in handy as a hair stylists. However his communication skills aren't the only area he excels in. Have a long and successful career as a stylist has come from consistent practice and training. Yuuji is never content with what he has and is always striving for more.

What is your favorite style?
I like making short styles for men and women. Recently I've also had customers coming for a short cut so that they can donate their hair. In these cases, some customers were donating around 30 cm of hair. This is quite a lot of hair being cut off, so the counseling before had was done carefully, making sure that the final result is something enjoyable.
What is your favorite style?
I like visiting cafes around Shijo-Gojo. I love coffee, so its nice to go to cafes and relax while I clear my head.
What is your favorite style?
I also give careful counseling and do my best so that each customer can return with a smile. In counseling, I like to give suggestions using our style book, as well as ask about lifestyle and get to know each individual. Of course there is usually a small gap between what I feel and the customer's image, so I do my best to really close that gap and create the ideal final product.
My Viewpoint

Yuka shares her thoughts clearly so that each customer easily understands her image and creates open communcation with each person. She is very polite, and matches with customers who want to make sure the stylist really understands their unique image and wishes. Yuka never guess, and is able to sensibly choose words without hesitation.
